Local Economic Development
The problem of unemployment and low economic conditions in Egypt is well known and became stronger after the revolution. Egypt suffered and is still suffering from an inefficient educational system that doesn't fulfill the labor market demands. This is reflected in chronic unemployment rates with high population growth rate and slow economic growth.
Egypt ICT-TF believes that Local economic development (LED) offers local government, the private and not-for-profit sectors, and local communities the opportunity to work together to improve the local economy. It focuses on enhancing competitiveness, increasing sustainable growth and ensuring that growth is inclusive.
